There will come a time in the life of your appliance, that you will need to replace the knobs and handles on an appliance. The fact that you are standing in the kitchen with half of the handle to your oven in your hand, does not make the oven a bad appliance to purchase. This just means that the appliance has lived a good life and just needs some minor repair. There are several places out there that can supply you with the knobs and handles that you need for your appliance. This means that the odds of your appliance living on are pretty good. Now granted there was a time that the odds of an appliance being functional after a handle breaking were slim. Many stores realize that some people have appliances that are old enough that they came over with the Mayflower. Okay maybe many of these appliances are not that old, nonetheless there are some that are stand by for a family and these will not be replaced until they breath their last breath, or simply go up in flames which ever comes first. Getting back to the topic of finding knobs and handles that will fit an appliance. Sears is one place that seems to have a handle an knob for almost every appliance that has been made or will ever be made in the future. These appliances are many times considered to be a part of your family, and you would not dispose of a child simply because they broke their arm. The same is true for these appliances. Handles and knobs are able to be bought at your local hardware store if the appliance is new in age. If the appliance is of an older age, then you may have to go on a search to find one that will be appropriate for your needs. Now it is important that you remember that many times knobs and handles are interchangeable. This means that Maytag knobs and handles may fit on a Whirlpool appliance. These are occasionally the case when looking at these appliances. Many manufacturer take into account the fact that their appliance may break, and will suggest that another brand will be able to be used to repair it. Now there will be those people that will say that if the knobs and handles break, then the appliance needs to be replaced. The logic behind this is that if something as simple as knobs and handles breaks, then how can the rest of the more complex parts hold up to being used on a daily basis? The truth is that I have had an oven for twenty years, and except for a couple of knobs and handles that had to be replaced, it bakes just as good as the day it was delivered to my house. In fact I would not trade it in for a new one at all. This is an example of how an appliance can live on after the knobs and handles have been replaced a couple of times. If you find yourself in the need to replace the knobs and handles, then first check around at the various stores that are in your surrounding area. If this does not yield and results, then consider asking the sales associate if another brand of knobs and handles can be used in place of the ones that you currently have on your appliance.
