“20-60 % off, Retail Prices Everyday! New, one-of-a-kind, out of carton, discontinued, used, scratched and dented merchandise”, while surfing the internet and stumbling across the above banner ad, has anyone ever wondered what that might be? Well, that’s Sears outlet. Buy at your own risk.
Sears retail chain is quite well known all across the globe simply because of its business reputation, but few people who have never lived in the United States or Canada may be familiar with the concept of Sears’s outlet.
Well, Sears outlet --- as the name suggests, is some sort of an outlet space where those Sears products or goods that are unfit to remain in retail showrooms because of various reasons find their way in.
To the average customer, retail space is distinct from outlet space and he or she may not necessarily want to mix up the two. And yet, Sears has somehow managed to “position” both these dissimilar concepts equally well to its market base. The Outlet store is another feather on Sears Cap!
With keen marketing techniques and wise “positioning”, Sears Roebuck company has leveraged both the retail and outlet concepts equally well to its market.
The merchandise in Sears outlet may be:
• Seconds or factory rejects
• Stock-closing or clearance items
• End of season sale items
• Over or undersized items
• Discontinued models or out of fashion clothing
Sears outlet is interesting to the average buyer with a limited budget as it brings forth out-of-the-ordinary products, pricing, sizes, colors, models and so on. Sears outlet is much like a yard sale, flea market, exhibition sale, grand sale --- all rolled into one. The only difference is that it’s neither seasonal nor a temporary event, so anytime a buyer wants to explore a special sale or clearance event, they can simply visit the Sears outlet store and get the same taste!

Before a potential buyer can think of exploring items on the Sears outlet online portal, he or she is advised to review the included FAQ page very carefully. The FAQ answers such queries as reconditioned versus new products, purchase protection agreement, delivery mechanisms and order pickup receipt, problems of buying an item simply through the web store and so forth.
For obvious reasons, outlet store products are sold “as is” without any extended warranty or guarantee or any after-sales support. Most items cannot even be returned once they are sold.
Generally buyers, all over the world, look forward to visiting a special sale or clearance event at least once in a while--- so Sears has simply given reality to this mass fantasy through a permanent structure. Sears outlet is available to American and Canadian customers all through the year, selling same or similar products in different permutations. Now isn’t that interesting?
The only drawback of Sears outlet is that its merchandise may not be available to worldwide customers through its web portals as such out-of-the ordinary merchandise is usually reserved for the North American customer base.
